Jackson Pumpkin Sale In Its 36th Year

jack-o_lanterns

This is the 36th year area residents will be able to purchase their pumpkins for Halloween jack-o-lanterns while benefiting the activities of the Jackson Hole Parent Teacher Organization.    PTO President Cathy Blount says this year; 16,000 pounds of pumpkins have been purchased for the sale including twelve bins of baby pumpkins which were very popular last year.  Still, despite the large amount of the popular squash, Blount says the PTO has run out of pumpkins before the sale was over almost every year.  Proceeds from the sale are used for school purchases that aren’t budgeted like books and magazines for the school library and miscellaneous classroom expenses.  Blount says this year, in addition to the pumpkins, the event will feature face painting, wagon rides, a photo booth, and baked goods for sale. The event runs from 10:00 am until noon, or when they run out of pumpkins.

You can set up your decoys to minimize the risk of shooting at birds when they’re too far […]
  • Don’t lose your vision in the woods - October 21, 2014
I don’t have good eyes. Had I been born a hundred years ago, there would have been no help for me. Glasses can’t help me, so I’d have blind. I have to wear a special kind of contact lens, which wasn’t available in the days of Davey Crockett and Daniel Boone. But through the miracle […]
  • Hunters must be conservationists first - October 20, 2014
As hunters, it’s our responsibility to take care of the critters we hunt, as well as those we don’t. We have to obey the game laws. Police ourselves to be sure others respect the wildlife. And even offer suggestions to the Game and Fish Commission when we think there are better ways to ensure that […]
