The American Red Cross of Wyoming has announced it has closed the Bridger-Teton branch of the Red Cross and will seek to address the needs of all of Northwest Wyoming from its Cowboy Branch office in Worland, 246 miles away.  The Bridger Teton Chapter had served this area continuously since 1917.  Red Cross of Wyoming Executive Director Spencer Pollock says the team of 15 volunteers in Jackson will be coordinated from the Worland office and emergency needs will be addressed from there.  He says both the Bridger Teton office and the Cowboy Branch office had been staffed Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until noon, and the state sought to combine the duties into one full-time employee to administer Red Cross needs for all of northern and western Wyoming out of the Worland office.  He says those wishing to comment on the change may contact Red Cross Wyoming at 307-347-2040.

The SuperWife and I took the kids fishing on Labor Day. Usually, going fishing on a holiday is a bad idea. There tend to be crowds just about everywhere you go. But even on a national day off, you can avoid having to share space with other anglers if you get well off the beaten […]

  • The Grizzlies Won’t Be a Pushover [AUDIO] - August 29, 2014
The Wyoming Cowboys open up their football season at home against Montana tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon in Laramie.  It’s the first meeting between the two schools since 1997, and the Grizzlies enter the game as the fifth-ranked team in the FCS. On defense, the Cowboys top priority is to stop the run.  With a talented quarterback […]
  • Warmer Temperatures With Isolated Thunderstorms Expected Today - August 29, 2014
A weak ridge of high pressure will build over the region today, which will allow temperatures to become warmer and closer to average statewide.  However, some lingering low-level moisture and daytime heating could trigger a few hit or miss thunderstorms for the afternoon and early evening hours.  Gusty winds and lots of lightning will be […]
