A nest-box building project for Great Grey Owls under the supervision of Craighead Beringia South has earned Girl Scout Troop 1713 of Jackson their Bronze Award Monday.  The building of the nests will help in the research of ecology of the Great Grey Owl and its seasonal movements and habitat.  Craighead Beringia South is a non-profit science and education institute established in 1998 by Derek Craighead to study wildlife in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and promote a balanced approach to conservation, management, and educational programs through their long-term innovative wildlife investigations.  Meanwhile, the Girl Scout Bronze Award being earned by the troop is the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can earn and leads to the girls advancing to Girl Scout Cadette.

  • Back to normal at the trap range - April 17, 2014
By some strange luck, I shot really well last week in our trap league. But last night, I didn’t do so well. Not even close. The thing about shooting trap is that you’re bound to have good rounds once in a while. Those good nights give you hope that you’re improving. For some people, that […]
