Roads in Yellowstone National Park will close for the season after Sunday allowing for those roads to be prepared for snowmobile and snowcoach traffic through the winter season. Those commercially guided trips begin December 15th. Park Spokesman Al Nash says prior to that, the public has only the rest of this week and the weekend to drive through the park on their own. Nash advises that anyone traveling into Yellowstone the last few days of this season really need to be prepared for almost anything. Says Nash: “The weather is very changeable; services really don’t exist at this time of year, so you need to be self-sufficient.” Nash says pay-at-the-pump fuel is available 24 hours a day throughout the year at all park service stations, and the Yellowstone General Store, Post Office, medical clinic and campground remain open at Mammoth Hot Springs. Current road information is available at 307-344-2117.
