snow measurements

It may seem early to you for snow accumulations in the area, but actually the precipitation is about normal.  According to the Natural Resources Conservation Service, snow accumulation in the Snake River Basin collectively is 104% of the 30 year average, and it is 109% of the average in the Yellowstone Drainage which includes Two Ocean Plateau on the northern end of Grand Teton National Park.   The water content average is much higher.  According to the service, which is a division of the United States Department of Agriculture, it is still very early in the season and measurements can change dramatically.
