Veterans Enter Parks Free

veterans

It may be difficult to access much of Grand Teton National Park due to seasonal closures of roads and facilities, but what is open may be accessed free Friday for members of the US Armed Forces who currently serve or have served the nation during either war or peace.  According to Park Spokesperson Jackie Skaggs, active duty personnel are also encouraged to pick up the America the Beautiful Military Pass at no charge – an $80 value – for use throughout the year at any national park, wildlife refuge or other federal site that charges an entrance fee; this pass allows access to more than 2,000 federal areas. Military members must show a current, valid military identification card to obtain their pass. Yellowstone National Park is also observing the free entrance offer for veterans and active service personnel, but only the North and Northeast Entrances are open at this time.

But you’d be wrong. The last total lunar eclipse visible in Wyoming was way back in 2009, if I’m not mistaken. So I’ve been looking […]

  • Back to normal at the trap range - April 17, 2014
By some strange luck, I shot really well last week in our trap league. But last night, I didn’t do so well. Not even close. The thing about shooting trap is that you’re bound to have good rounds once in a while. Those good nights give you hope that you’re improving. For some people, that […]
