Jackson Police Department is cautioning against behaviors through the upcoming holiday period that set residents up for home burglaries.  They advise don’t have deliveries made at your home and left on your doorstep while you are gone, don’t announce your new high-dollar purchases after the holidays by leaving boxes for new TVs, stereos or computers outside your trashcan, don’t talk about an upcoming trip on the social network, avoid leaving valuables inside your vehicle while shopping, and if you put presents under the Christmas tree, place them there at the last minute.  Among the advice of things to do that will discourage burglaries is having exterior holiday lights that not only make the home look festive, but illuminate areas around windows and doors where burglars may otherwise seek entry.  Finally, if you do plan on going somewhere, the police department urges residents to have a neighbor look after items that may appear on your doorstep like newspapers or other deliveries – and let the police department know you will be away.

  • The Grizzlies Won’t Be a Pushover [AUDIO] - August 29, 2014
The Wyoming Cowboys open up their football season at home against Montana tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon in Laramie.  It’s the first meeting between the two schools since 1997, and the Grizzlies enter the game as the fifth-ranked team in the FCS. On defense, the Cowboys top priority is to stop the run.  With a talented quarterback […]
  • Warmer Temperatures With Isolated Thunderstorms Expected Today - August 29, 2014
A weak ridge of high pressure will build over the region today, which will allow temperatures to become warmer and closer to average statewide.  However, some lingering low-level moisture and daytime heating could trigger a few hit or miss thunderstorms for the afternoon and early evening hours.  Gusty winds and lots of lightning will be […]
