Firefighters from across the area responded to a structure fire last night on West Bar-BC road. Firefighters from Jackson, Adams Canyon, Hoback, Wilson, Moran and Grand Teton National Park were called out between 5 and 5:30 yesterday. As of 11 o’clock last night, there were 38 fire personnel on scene, along with 3 local fire engines, a Grand Teton National Park Engine, a large platform truck and 6 water tenders. Initial reports said the fire started in the chimney of a large home and quickly spread to the walls surrounding the chimney. Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Battalion Chief Mike Moyer said that along with the fire, responders were battling bitter cold temperatures and complications cause by ice on the roads and around the home. According to Teton County Fire Marshall Kathy Clay, the home has been determined a total loss.
