Those driving past the construction of the new bridge across the Snake River at Hoback Junction south of Jackson may not be seeing all that much difference in the construction site, but Wyoming Department of Transportation officials say there is a big change under all that construction material. In fact, progress is stillon schedule to have the new bridge in use by the end of this year. WYDOT Spokesperson Stephanie Harsha says that can potentially be in the days following Christmas. That still leaves the retaining wall to be constructed which will commence next season under a separate contract from the other bridge work. Meanwhile, work will begin on the demolition of the old bridge sometime early next year.
