Teton County Search and Rescue was called to Teton Pass shortly before 2:00 pm Wednesday after a Jackson woman suffered a shoulder injury while snowboarding the pass.  23 year-old Viorica Cazacu was brought down on a toboggan since she was unable to self-rescue – even with the assistance of a companion.  Teton County Undersheriff Bob Gilliam says approximately ten volunteer members of the SAR team responded, and the SAR physician was able to provide some on-scene relief to Cazacu’s injury before she was transported to St. John’s Medical Center by private vehicle.  This marks the first rescue on the pass this season.
