More than 300 Wyoming Special Olympic athletes, coaches and chaperones from throughout Wyoming will once again converge on Jackson Hole early next month for the 2014 winter games. The Winter Games provide one of the five main state competition events held during the year for Special Olympians. Opening ceremonies will once again be at Jackson Hole High School at 7:00 pm February 4th, and athletes will compete in alpine skiing and snowboarding at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort while cross country skiing and snowshoeing athletes will compete at Teton Pines. State Director of Communications Regan Diller says once again, volunteers from the community are needed to help with registration, timing, food service, awards and other miscellaneous support services. Those willing to participate in the event are asked to contact Carolyn Burke, the winter games coordinator at 413-0056.
