The state wants to know how human activity is affecting the air quality in Afton. To that end, Wyoming’s Department of Environmental Quality – Air Quality Division has begun operating a Mobile Beta Attenuation Monitor trailer in Afton. That unit houses continuous particulate matter and meteorological instrumentation. The trailer is located inside the limits of the town for population-based monitoring over the period of approximately one year. Information gathered is intended to update a five year assessment of air quality around the state. To that end, Wyoming operates monitoring stations throughout the state.
