January 15, 2014 Grand Teton National Park, State of Wyoming No Comments
GRTE Winter

While recreational visitations to Grand Teton National Park were down last month from what they were in 2012, total visitations for the year were up by five percent despite the 2 ½ weeks lost in October.  Park Spokesperson Jackie Skaggs says altogether, more than 4-million-117-thousand people passed through Grand Teton’s gates in 2013.  Skaggs points out thatthe park attendance is “riding on the coattails” of the summer visitation, because October was substantially down due to the government shutdown and now December is slightly down. Skaggs says the visitation totals for the past decade have been very similar, and within the National Park System Grand Teton continues to rank among the top ten of the most visited national parks.

The Wyoming Cowboys open up their football season at home against Montana tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon in Laramie.  It’s the first meeting between the two schools since 1997, and the Grizzlies enter the game as the fifth-ranked team in the FCS. On defense, the Cowboys top priority is to stop the run.  With a talented quarterback […]
  • Warmer Temperatures With Isolated Thunderstorms Expected Today - August 29, 2014
A weak ridge of high pressure will build over the region today, which will allow temperatures to become warmer and closer to average statewide.  However, some lingering low-level moisture and daytime heating could trigger a few hit or miss thunderstorms for the afternoon and early evening hours.  Gusty winds and lots of lightning will be […]

At the risk of sounding like I’ve been watching too much Top Gear, I need to go off on a bit of a rant right now. The good folks at Nissan let me drive a Titan for two full months, which was really nice of them. And it’s done a pretty good job of filling […]
