The familiar Virginian Lodge, Convention Center and RV Park, along with the 12.9 acres it sits on, has been put up for sale for $60-million.
The Virginian opened in 1965 – then on the outskirts of town – and has kept its Wyoming heritage under the same ownership for 56 years. With 170 guest rooms, 103 RV sites, outdoor heated pool and hot tub, the famous Virginian Saloon, a 5,000 square foot convention center, and the adjacent Virginian restaurant, “the Virg” has welcomed visitors from all over the world with western hospitality.
The Virginian has served as a special community meeting place for the annual Rod Run Classic Car Show, Christmas Tree Festival, the World Championship Hill Climb, and Fall Art Festival.
The listing suggests that the two sections of the property have the potential for multiple purposes, including commercial, lodging, housing, and workforce apartments. The front parcel is zoned mixed-use Commercial Residential rising three to four stories and the ability to build another 170-room hotel on-site.
The rear parcel is zoned for Neighborhood High Density, promoting a variety of residential, apartment, condominium or workforce housing options up to 3 stories high.
Offers for the property will be entertained through March.
