Bridge Drawing

It’s just around the corner now – or for that matter, around the roundabout.  Construction crews are going through the final check-list on the new Snake River Canyon Bridge at Hoback Junction south of Jackson, and state department of transportation officials say they expect to open it to traffic Friday with little fanfare.  The new bridge was originally scheduled for completion in October of 2012, but it has been plagued with contractual disagreements and flawed construction prior to the latest headaches brought about by the weather.  Once the new bridge is opened, work will begin on the demolition of the old one which was built in 1950. Work on a retaining wall just west of the bridge is to be put out to bid this summer.

My son Colby and I spent every night last week learning the difference between legal and ethical, a hangfire or a misfire, and the legal calibers for deer or elk.
