Jackson’s Wort Hotel has been the recipient in the past few months of some of the industry’s highest accolades.  General Manager Jim Waldrop today is in Las Vegas, Nevada where he is accepting an award for the hotel’s selection as a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Hotel.  He says earning such an award is “truly an honor.” Forbes Travel Guide was formerly the Mobil Travel Guide which originated the Five Star Rating System.  Just prior to the holidays, Waldrop says the hotel was also named the nation’s best historic small hotel. That award came from Historic Hotels of America which is a division of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  Says Waldrop: “It’s once again a great tribute to our staff and certainly a tribute to our ownership and his investment in this hotel and in each of us.” Waldrop says the honors will provide the kind of special attention the hotel will, in his words, “be able to hang our hat on for quite a while.”  However, he says, that should never lead to the establishment and its staff to rest on their laurels, but as inspiration to continue striving to provide a special experience for guests.
