The 2014 annual America the Beautiful Pass, which provides admission to national park and federal recreational lands for the year, is out sporting a photo of a location on the Bridger Teton National Forest. The pass, which is now on sale by the Department of Interior, depicts a campsite at Island Lake in the Wind River Range. The photo was submitted by Katherine Hawkins of Hyde Park, New York. Hawkins says the camp was set up during a five-day backpacking trip and her 3½ year old daughter had ducked into the tent to escape some pesky mosquitos. Hawkins’ photo was selected from more than 26,160 photos entered in last year’s contest. Bridger Teton National Forest Spokesperson Mary Cernicek says now everyone who gets the annual pass will get to see a piece of the forest; and that, she says will hopefully entice people to come to the area to experience the forest first hand.
