Fall River Rural Electric Cooperative owner-members approved a change in the nonprofit’s by-laws Tuesday night allowing Board of Director members to serve five consecutive terms of three years each, instead of the previously approved four terms. The change was made on a margin of 56% to 44%. The change was recommended by a special ad hoc committee, formed under the direction of the board. In an effort to involve more members in the election process, the board also added the element of allowing member votes to be submitted via mail-in ballots and electronic online balloting. Fall River Rural Electric serves owner-members in southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, and southwest Montana including Teton Valley, Idaho and Alta, Wyoming.
