It was a loss that the Jackson Hole High School Speech and Debate Team came home with this weekend.  That’s the first time they have not taken first place in 2½ seasons.  Speech Coach Londe Gagnon says, “We knew this streak would someday come to an end.” During the Friday and Saturday competition in Casper, Jackson fell to Spearfish, South Dakota and Star Valley.  Ultimately, Jackson came in fifth in a competition that hosted 35 schools.  The next meet is here in Jackson, hosted by the local team.  Gagnon says community volunteers are still needed to help with judging, hosting and other miscellaneous duties.  Those willing to help are asked to call Gagnon at 699-0537.
