With the completion of the fifth leg of the 19th annual International Stage Stop Sled Dog Race through an area north of Pinedale, Musher Blain “Bud” Streeper remains solidly in first place with a composite time of 13 hours, 20 minutes.  Behind him is John Stewart of Scotland with 13 hours, 48 minutes.  Streeper and Stewart have been among the most consistent mushers in the race and don’t appear to ready to back off. Mushers yesterday faced temperatures well below zero as they made their way along a course in the Upper Green River and Cora area north of Pinedale.  Race Director Dan Carter says animal shelters along each stop along the way are donated food supplies from the race sponsor, Pedigree. Today, the race sets out from the Big Piney/Marbleton area.

But you’d be wrong. The last total lunar eclipse visible in Wyoming was way back in 2009, if I’m not mistaken. So I’ve been looking […]

  • Back to normal at the trap range - April 17, 2014
By some strange luck, I shot really well last week in our trap league. But last night, I didn’t do so well. Not even close. The thing about shooting trap is that you’re bound to have good rounds once in a while. Those good nights give you hope that you’re improving. For some people, that […]
