Lost Skiers Spend A Night Out In Snowstorm

Granite Canyon Winter

Grand Teton National Park Rangers were called to assist two men and a woman who mistakenly skied out of bounds from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Friday and ended up in the Park’s Granite Canyon… Park Spokesperson Jenny Anzelmo-Sarles says the three – identified as 59 year-old Tom Barry of Jackson, Wyoming, 49 year-old Zoe Tong and 52 year-old Dave Catero from San Francisco, California – were not equipped to spend the night, but were forced to do so.  They texted a friend about their plight, who in turn notified rangers of the situation about 8:00 am Saturday.  A team of four rangers set out from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and encountered the group about two miles above the mouth of the canyon.  They were escorted down and then transported back to Teton Village where they had left their car.  The three were reportedly cold, but otherwise unharmed.

But you’d be wrong. The last total lunar eclipse visible in Wyoming was way back in 2009, if I’m not mistaken. So I’ve been looking […]

  • Back to normal at the trap range - April 17, 2014
By some strange luck, I shot really well last week in our trap league. But last night, I didn’t do so well. Not even close. The thing about shooting trap is that you’re bound to have good rounds once in a while. Those good nights give you hope that you’re improving. For some people, that […]
