Love

Just in case you overlooked it, today is February 14th.  That’s right, it’s Valentine’s day – and before the day is over, more than $180-million valentine cards will be exchanged, some 36-million special people will receive heart-shaped boxes of chocolates, and about 180-million roses will find their ways into some sweetheart’s hands.  By the way, Ladies, a recent national survey indicates that 61% of all men say they would like to receive flowers for Valentine’s Day. And while the man for whom the holiday is named, the Roman Priest St. Valentine was clubbed to death for marrying soldiers in defiance of a prohibition by Emperor Claudius II, it is hoped you don’t suffer a similar fate for having forgotten the holiday.  But just to be on the safe side, you might want to think up something special to do after work today – especially if you forgot to get something special for your someone special.

In my opinion, everybody should go hunting each weekend of the hunting season. You don’t have to go after elk or deer every time. Change it up a little. Hunt doves on the first weekend, then try to get a blue grouse or two the next. Later in the fall, you can start working duck […]

On defense, the Cowboys top priority is to stop the run.  With a talented quarterback […]
  • Warmer Temperatures With Isolated Thunderstorms Expected Today - August 29, 2014
A weak ridge of high pressure will build over the region today, which will allow temperatures to become warmer and closer to average statewide.  However, some lingering low-level moisture and daytime heating could trigger a few hit or miss thunderstorms for the afternoon and early evening hours.  Gusty winds and lots of lightning will be […]
  • GPS will sometimes lead you to astray - August 29, 2014
At the risk of sounding like I’ve been watching too much Top Gear, I need to go off on a bit of a rant right now. The good folks at Nissan let me drive a Titan for two full months, which was really nice of them. And it’s done a pretty good job of filling […]
