The state of Wyoming along with 18 other states is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear a significant Second Amendment case.  The request expresses concern over a Third Circuit Court of Appeals decision in New Jersey which, the states maintain, impacts the right to keep and bear arms outside of the home. Wyoming Governor Matt Mead says, “If the current decision stands, states providing greater protections than New Jersey under the Second Amendment may be preempted by future federal action. That is the importance of this case.” The other states joining in the effort are Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota and West Virginia.

An e-mail I got the other day highlighted some of the things an anonymous mother from Texas learned from her kids. Things like, “If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor isn’t strong enough to rotate a 42-pound boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, […]
  • Shoot some skeet if you’re feeling like a crack shot - July 18, 2014
I shot at a lot of clay pigeons when I was a kid, but I never did it at an organized trap or skeet club. And I’ve shot at a lot of birds, both upland and waterfowl. I may not have been born with a shotgun in my hand, but I picked one up not […]
