The Wyoming House of Representatives worked late into the night on Wednesday night working through 83 amendments to the Budget Bill. The major change they made, says Teton County Representative Keith Gingery, was adding over $14 million to community college budgets. He says there also was a substantial change in the formula to fund local governments. Says Gingery, “The amendment caused an instant substantial loss of funding to Teton County and the Town of Jackson.” Instead, he says the amendment channels that money to the City of Laramie and Albany County. Gingery says there is a chance to amend that when the bill comes up for final reading today.
