Jackson Hole’s Olympic Hopeful Resi Stiegler suffered a serious disappointment Friday when she caught a tip of one of her skis on a gate during the second run of slalom competition and lost her ski. Stiegler was enjoying a good run when the incident occurred. Stiegler was numbered among 11 who didn’t finish on their second runs while another 28 skiers had failed to finish their first runs. While to most, it may have been a crushing blow, Stiegler tweeted Sunday. “No matter the outcome I had a blast competing and supporting my team mates and representing my country. I love all the craziness and fun times with everyone and it only builds that fire stronger!” Stiegler was the singular Olympic hopeful from Wyoming. Meanwhile, American Teammate Mikaela Shiffrin from Colorado took the gold in the event.
