Wyoming’s license plate depicting the Tetons last year was the national winner of surveys asking which state has the most beautiful license plates. However, in two more years, those plates will change. Every eight years, the state changes the appearance of the plates. Starting in 2016, says Teton County Representative Keith Gingery, that photo will be Square Top near Pinedale. Another change, Gingery says, will be the addition of a “T” on plates to denote they are truck plates. Gingery says that is to help more readily distinguish between trucks and passenger cars in locations cameras are used to catch cars passing through red lights or toll roads, since trucks and cars can have identical numbers.
