(JACKSON) An avalanche yesterday afternoon caught two Jackson Hole skiers in the Upper 7 Dwarfs area in Granite Canyon, causing some undisclosed injuries to at least one of the skiers. According to the Bridger Teton National Forest Avalanche Center, the first skier apparently triggered an avalanche about 12:30 pm which carried him nearly into the trees and down a second pitch. When a second skier went to help him, a second avalanche ran carrying her down to the first skier, and almost burying him further in the process. The pair was able to self-rescue and ski out on their own. No further information about the slide or the condition of the skiers was immediately available.
