(VICTOR, Ida) The town of Victor Idaho has launched a survey to determine public opinion about its open container ordinance and the sale of alcoholic beverages on public property for community events. Currently, the town’s ordinance prohibits any person from having an open container of alcohol on public property unless approved by City Council for a benevolent, charitable or public purpose. A proposed amendment to the ordinance would allow individuals to possess unsealed, open containers of alcohol in some city parks and public facilities and would allow individuals to consume alcohol in designated city parks and public facilities without a permit. Victor City Council will discuss proposed changes to the City’s ordinances that regulate the sale and consumption of alcohol at the next City Council meeting, 7:00 pm Wednesday at Victor City Hall. They are also inviting comments to City Council by e-mail by written letter.
