(JACKSON, Wyo)  A Pinedale artist who advocates for contemporary Wyoming artists, a Colorado artist with large-scale works peppering the state and beyond, and a Brooklyn artist who logs Google Earth and Times Square as canvases have been chosen as finalists in the South Cache Complete Streets Paintings & Pavers Project in south Jackson. Under the program, the three artists will receive stipends to develop a concept for customizing the pavers and crosswalk street paintings along the redesigned South Cache Street. An $18,000 budget supports design and fabrication of the custom pavers and the temporary street paintings for the project. Ideally, says Carrie Geraci of Jackson Hole Public Art, the custom pavers and street painting will exist in concert with each other to add experiential elements to the street.

I know, a show about giving thanks on Thanksgiving is pretty predictable. But it doesn’t feel right to overlook the importance of this day. • Pelts are nearing prime conditions - November 26, 2014
The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. It’s the amount of daylight, and not the temperature, that causes wild animals to grow longer, thicker coats. If you’re a predator hunter or a trapper, that’s your cue. The pelts are coming into their prime right now, but that doesn’t mean they’re at […]

  • Tame that recoil - November 25, 2014
You don’t have to put up with nasty recoil when you’re hunting. Even if you’re hunting our state’s bigger animals, like elk, moose, or even bison, today’s technology can take a lot of the sting out of your hunting rifle. A friend told me he developed a bad flinch while sighting in his .300 Win […]
