(JACKSON, Wyo) Teton County Integrated Solid Waste & Recycling is offering a new and improved version of the local green business certification program originally established in 2007. Solid Waste and Recycling Spokesman Mac Dukart explains the program has been dormant for the past few years due to the recession, but thanks to generous support from 1% for the Tetons and several other community partners, Solid Waste and Recycling is able to revitalize and re-launch this popular program. He says businesses interested in participating need to complete an online, yes/no application featuring questions related to business operations and “RRR” practices. Following the online portion of the application are scheduled site visits, in which an RRR Business Leaders representative drops by an applicant’s place of business to learn more about their sustainable operations and provide additional “greening” ideas and resources as needed. Dukart says participating organizations will receive community recognition and a variety y of marketing and networking benefits.
