(JACKSON, Wyo)  Teton County School District #1 board members last night approved next year’s calendar which provides for a start of the school year the day after Labor Day, an eight-day winter break beginning Christmas Eve and the customary two-week spring break beginning March 30th.  School would then dismiss for the year June 11th.  Public feedback had expressed concerns that no travel time had been accommodated prior to Christmas Eve in the schedule. The calendar provides 175 class days for primary students and 173 for secondary students.  The calendar was put together after a parent survey was circulated and board and staff members conducted several workshops to discuss a variety of options.

  • Don’t lose your vision in the woods - October 21, 2014
I don’t have good eyes. Had I been born a hundred years ago, there would have been no help for me. Glasses can’t help me, so I’d have blind. I have to wear a special kind of contact lens, which wasn’t available in the days of Davey Crockett and Daniel Boone. But through the miracle […]
  • Hunters must be conservationists first - October 20, 2014
As hunters, it’s our responsibility to take care of the critters we hunt, as well as those we don’t. We have to obey the game laws. Police ourselves to be sure others respect the wildlife. And even offer suggestions to the Game and Fish Commission when we think there are better ways to ensure that […]
