Wyoming Had Lowest State-Local Tax Burden in 2011

A tax policy research group says Wyoming residents had the lowest state and local taxes in the country in 2011. Wyoming paid 6.9 percent of their incomes in state and local taxes that year according to the Tax Foundation report. The national average for state tax burden for 2011 was 9.8 percent.
