Visitors this summer to Yellowstone National Park will not see facilities available until mid-June, and some accommodations will not be available at all. Last Tuesday, Xanterra Parks and Resorts announced that given the ongoing and ever-stricter guidelines from the CDC, WHO, as well as federal and state governments to limit gatherings, they have made the decision to suspend all operations through June 14th. Then once facilities begin visitors will not be able to stay in several of the iconic lodging facilities. Old Faithful Inn, Roosevelt Lodge and Grant Village will not be opened at all during 2020. The target for opening other lodging facilities in the park is the third week of June, and will include Mammoth Hotel, Old Faithful Lodge, Old Faithful Snow Lodge, Lake Hotel, Lake Lodge, Canyon Lodge, and cabins with private bath located in several specific locations. Xanterra also says there will be no dining room seating and only grab-and-go food service will be available in the park.
