The future of the sage grouse will be part of the discussion this week at the Western Governors’ Association meeting in Colorado Springs. The sage-grouse is found in 11 Western states and the he U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will decide by next year whether to list the bird as an Endangered Species. That listing could affect farmers, ranchers and oil and gas developers. But Land Tawney, executive director of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, said the nation should look to Wyoming as a guide.
