Mayor Mark Barron supported an optional one percent sales tax to pay for capital projects at an election forum at Teton County Library last week. Barron said 55 percent of taxes are paid by tourists, but after the meeting said there’s no scientific data for the statistic he used. Jackson Hole Daily says community leaders are shooting for visitors to carry half of the county’s sales tax load
