With downtown business owners complaining of aggressive customers refusing to wear masks when they enter stores, the Jackson Town Council passed a resolution that would support a county requirement to wear face coverings in public places.
Teton County Health District officer Travis Riddell, MD has not issued a requirement to wear face coverings in public, but town officials indicated that the process was underway to coordinate with the State Department of Health to create such an order.
In a hastily called meeting held Monday, Mayor Pete Muldoon said the resolution was not an order or ordinance to require wearing of face masks, but that it showed support for an order if issued by the county.
