$435K Given To Local Students
Students from the five area high schools and home programs gathered in the Jackson Hole High School auditorium Thursday as area philanthropists handed out hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships for post-secondary education. Be the end of the evening, High School Counselor Julie Stayner says 99 students had been awarded over $435-thousand in local scholarship money. Those making the scholarship presentations frequently pointed to the recent recessionary times and commented how their organizations had not only maintained the money available for students, but in several cases, increased the number of scholarships awarded. Local scholarships originated from a total of 70 charitable organizations or individuals.
