Opening of Hwy 89 Set For Sunday
Contractors and the Wyoming Department of Transportation personnel are making progress on the US 26-89 in Snake River Canyon, but will not be able to get the highway open Saturday night. John Eddins, WYDOT District Engineer in District 3, said they are committed to getting the highway open tomorrow morning with two lanes, two-way traffic. Eddins said the contractor, Yellow Iron Construction, will be onsite working late tonight to be able to open the highway Sunday morning. Contractors are currently building a gravel type road surface for traffic. Motorists are reminded that this is a busy highway construction area and should be expect to encounter reduced speeds.
