US 26/89 between Alpine Junction and the Hoback Junction is now open to motorists.
Just after 7:00 am Sunday, crews from the Wyoming Department of Transportation opened both lanes of the highway where it had been closed following a landslide just east of the Blue Trails Slide area. Traffic is being carried over the trench cut by the landslide on a temporary gravel surface. Consequently, the speed limit over the temporary repair has been greatly reduced. Motorists can also expect delays of up to 20 minutes as contractors remain on site working. Restrictions on WY 22, Teton Pass, have returned to the max gross vehicle weight of 60,000 but trailers will again be allowed during commuter hours now that US 26/89 is open to traffic.
