Former GTNP Spokesperson Retires

Joan Anzelmo

Colorado National Monument Superintendent of Joan Anzelmo has announced plans to retire from the Park Service July first.  Earlier, Anzelmo had served as senior agency spokesperson both in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and then served as the spokesperson for the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho.  She has enjoyed a long and prolific career with the park service, coordinating information for a variety of high profile events and planned and coordinated multiple presidential visits to various national parks throughout the United States.  During the 35 years in her various national park positions, Anzelmo has been honored with a variety of awards including two of the Department of Interior’s highest honors: the Superior Service Award and the Meritorious Service Award.  Upon retirement, Anzelmo plans to return to live in Jackson Hole.
