Flood Watch Issued For Jackson Hole
The national weather service has issued a flood watch for the mountains and valleys around Jackson Hole through tomorrow afternoon. According to the Riverton Office of the weather service, rapid snowmelt run-off below 9500 feet will cause rapid rises along small creeks and streams today — particularly in the afternoon hours. Then, windy and mild conditions are expected at higher elevations tonight which will continue the sharp increases in snowmelt run-off during the overnight and early morning hours Tuesday. A brief rain on top of the snowmelt event is expected for the basins west of the Continental Divide this afternoon and evening which could cause even more excess run-off to flow into the creeks and streams.
