Flood Advisory Issued
The National Weather Service has issued a small stream flood advisory for rain and melting snow in Teton and surrounding counties until 11:00 am Monday. Forecasters caution that snow melt of 1½ to 2½ inches may combine with rain to cause rapid runoff into small streams and cause flooding to occur. Among those areas that may be impacted by flooding on small streams listed by the weather service are Afton, Alpine, Alta, Bondurant, Colter Bay Village, Dubois, Jackson, Hoback Canyon, Moran Junction, the Snake River Canyon, Teton Pass, and Togwotee Pass. Weather officials say it is important for members of the public to know where they are relative to the swollen streams which they point out can become killers during high run-off. Additionally, they point out that campers should avoide camping along streams or creeks during the rainy weather.
