Speech Team Members Compete Nationally

Veronica Patterson, Jessica Moore, Alex Duncker and Randy Elledge, members of the Jackson Hole High School Speech and Debate Team, recently represented the Wind River District at the National Forensic League National Speech and Debate Tournament, held in Dallas, Texas June 12-19.  Patterson, a senior, competed in Extemporaneous Speaking while Duncker, a junior, competed in Original Oratory.  Moore and Elledge, both juniors, qualified to this meet in Congressional Debate. They were joined in Dallas by coaches Londe Gagnon and Mark Houser.  Moore had the best showing of the four Jackson competitors, narrowly missing advancment to the semifinal round, and she was the top Wyoming competitor in Congressional Debate.  Over 3300 students competed in 4,576 rounds of competition over the week.
