Shooting Investigation Continues

There’s no word on the condition of a 19-year-old shooting victim from Cottonwood Park who was flown to Idaho Falls yesterday for further treatment of his injury. Police have asked that his name be kept confidential. The incident took place sometime after 1:30 pm and prompted the lockdown of all area schools until about a half-hour after normal dismissal time. Officers responded immediately from both the police and sheriff’s department. At this time, however, the alleged shooter remains at large. He was described as a younger male, wearing a black hoodie and a black bandana over his face – and possibly wearing sunglasses at the time. The suspect is said to have fled on foot carrying a silver-colored handgun. Police are seeking information about the suspect and Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to $5000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual.
