Streeper Still Leads

Marbleton-BigPiney

“Bud” Streeper remains in the lead for the fourth day in a row as the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race continued in the Big Piney/Marbleton area. Aaron Burmeister of Alaska has moved into second place while Anna Bjorklund who was in second place has fallen to fourth place now. As the racers make their ways through the state, they are greeted at each stop with local festivities ranging from a reception and fireworks in Jackson, to banquets in Pinedale and Alpine and a barbeque in Daniel. Stacey Teasley, a competitor and wife to Race Organizer Frank Teasley says the people in the communities along the way have had an important role in making the annual race something special. By the same token, Teasley says the field of competitors has over the years become a tight-knit group of friends. Today’s stage of the race involves a 54 mile route in the Greys River area near Kemmerer.
