Search Warrant in Shooting Case

jacksonpolice

Jackson Police Chief Todd Smith said that a search warrant was executed yesterday evening at the home of the victim of a shooting in Jackson. Police didn’t indicate that the search yielded much information, but they did say the search was still underway for a suspect in the case.

The incident occurred about 1:30 pm Tuesday in the Cottonwood Park area of Jackson. The 19 year-old was apparantly shot within 750 feet of his home. He was able to get back to his house and told his father that he had been shot.

He was taken to the St. John’s emergency room for treatment and later flown to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. There is no update on his condition.

At this time, Smith said the shooter remains at large. He was described as a young male, wearing a black hoodie and a black bandana over his face – and possibly wearing sunglasses at the time. The suspect is said to have fled on foot carrying a silver-colored handgun. Police are seeking information about the suspect and Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to $5000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual. Reports may be phoned to 733-2331 or Crimestoppers at 733-5148.

If you see the suspect, do not approach.
