Grizzly Charges Driggs Woman

The Sheriff’s Department in Teton Valley was notified late Sunday evening that a grizzly bear had been sighted in the Saddle Back Vista area of  Darby Canyon.  Idaho Fish and Game confirmed that a sow with cubs appears to be roaming that area.  The report originated from a young woman who said she had been riding her bicycle along Darby Road and was charged by the bear.  She escaped injury and promptly notified Fish and Game of the experience.  Sheriff and Fish and Game officials are urging those traveling in that area to be very cautious and to report any bear sightings as quickly as possible.
