Alleged Arsonist Arrested

Teton County Idaho Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Driggs man for Conspiracy to Commit Arson and Conspiracy to Commit Insurance Fraud.  The arrest of Matthew James Sargent comes after an investigation into a fire that destroyed the home of Kirk and Evonne Sargent on or about April 14th.  This investigation is being conducted by the Teton County Sheriff’s Office and Teton County Fire Protection Arson Task Force, Teton County Prosecutors Office, Idaho Department of Insurance and the Idaho Attorney General’s Office. Sheriff’s officials say an investigation is still ongoing.
