Unemployment Plummets Here

Another slight decline in Wyoming’s unemployment rate has been reported during June by the state’s Department of Workforce Services, but the jobless rate in Teton County took a more precipitous tumble with the onset of the summer tourist season.  According to the monthly report, the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell from 6.0% in May to 5.9% in June – continuing its steady decline since December 2009 when it topped out at 7.7%.  At the same time, employment in Teton County plummeted from 9.2% in May to 5.2% in June.   Sublette County continued to lead the state in jobs held with only 3.3% of the labor force unemployed.  Lincoln County found itself on the other end of the scale at 7.3% of its workers idled.
