A wrangler is reportedly still hospitalized after lightning struck her and two others on her trail ride near Chico in Paradise Valley, Montana last Tuesday evening. A mother from California and her child were also hurt when the lightning struck the three while they were on a trail ride from Chico Hot Springs. According to a report from the Park County Sheriff’s Department, the group was about a half mile south of the popular Paradise Valley resort when the incident occurred about 5:30 pm. The report says the three were taken to Livingston Memorial Hospital for treatment, and the wrangler was then flown to Billings for further treatment. Two of the horses died as the result of the strike.
